Tonight's Township Committee meeting has been rescheduled for Monday March 1, 2010 at 7:30 PM in the Municipal Building. Besides the business originally scheduled for tonight, the Committee will be discussing the defeated Fire District budget. A copy of the Fire District budget is on the public bulletin board in the Municipal Building.
==============================
Last week's post generated a comment from "anonymous" who wants to know more information about the zoning violation I described in bullet #7. I hope anonymous accepts this response for the time being:
In cases of ongoing investigations (in this case a zoning violation) I do not want to compromise our zoning officer's investigation process or the privacy of the property owner. Should the investigation result in an official public action I will update my blog accordingly.
Yes, I had coaching from our municipal attorney on that statement but I could not have said it better myself; and to be honest, that is why I left out details in my original entry. Maintaining a blog for public consumption is new territory and I don't want to gum up the works on an ongoing investigation of compromise the privacy of a property owner who hasn't had a chance to defend him/herself yet.
I hope anonymous understands my position, and I thank him/her for reading my blog.
Stay warm and safe as this (hopefully the last ) winter storm whoops us.

Dear Mr. Bauman:
Your explanation read and accepted. Thank you !
From nj.com....Every1has1, only thing that would happen if they fired any of the fine police officers in town or sent our services without consulting the actual taxpayers in the major change of service they would ALL get recalled. ALL.
To the newest of Franklin's corrupt committee, it's amazing what I've heard and let me know if I'm wrong. It's been brought to the attention of Voters for a Better Franklin that the members of the planning board helped bring you on to remove the current construction official.This is called corruption or you may know it as official misconduct with a shelf life of 4 years. If it's proved that you acted in an improper manner or helped another benefit or benefited yourself from your office, IE getting an employee removed because he issued a violation to one of your buddies. I think that though you might have promise as a committee member we'll be speaking with Republican Chairman about replacing you.
Dear Every1has1: As you requested in your comment, I am letting you know that you are wrong; I chose to run for office because I like Franklin and the people who live here. I have a history of volunteering on Boards and Commissions in the towns I have lived in. From environmental commissions, historical societies, and planning boards, I have given countless hours of my time since the mid 1980s in the name of community involvement.
I began serving Franklin as a member of the Environmental Commission and the Land Use Board. My dedication and passion got the attention of the Republican Committee; they asked if I was interested in interviewing as a candidate for township committee and I agreed. My father was a councilman while I grew up so I was familiar with the role. I received the endorsement of the Republican Committee and I ran in the primary and the general election. I would love the opportunity to share my experiences with you and / or the Voters for a Better Franklin. I can be reached via this blog of via email scottsbauman@gmail.com
Thank you for reading my blog; I look forward to future comments from you but it would be nice if you left your name :-)
Scott
I understand that you might be hot under the collar
